Why I’m running
Born in 2001 in the Comox Valley, I'm proud to be the youngest candidate running for Campbell River City Council this election, and I believe that's an asset, not a limitation. As someone still navigating the same affordability pressures facing so many young people today, I understand these challenges firsthand, not just in theory.
I split my childhood between Campbell River and Trail, a small town in BC's interior. I put myself through college working as a technician in Trail's unforgiving industrial environment, and I earned my diploma in Business Administration through that hard work. After graduating, I moved back to Campbell River to reconnect with my extended family and put down roots in the community where I spent much of my childhood.
Since then, I’ve helped small businesses manage their finances, and I've built a career in local banking, including time as a mortgage and loans officer, giving me a first-hand view of the financial pressures our community faces. Every day, I sit across the table from residents navigating real financial pressures, and that experience has shaped my commitment to practical, people-first solutions and to the wellbeing of our community.
I'm running to put my background in finance and business administration to work for Campbell River's future. A top priority for me is supporting new housing zoning that gives young people real, affordable options, so more of what they earn stays in their pockets. That means more disposable income flowing into local businesses, and a stronger, more resilient local economy for everyone.
I believe in small, responsible government, and I believe it's more important than ever to have someone on council who understands real-world finances to help guide Campbell River through the broader challenges British Columbia is facing.
I'll bring not just my background in finance, but the perspective of hard blue-collar work, to help grow this city into the booming economic hub of the North Island region it deserves to be.
I won't promise you things only achievable with an unlimited budget. What I will promise is a realistic, rational, and respectful approach to local government, to give every resident a fair shot at a prosperous future.
My priorities
Affordability and public money
I know how much a tax increase matters to a household budget. Before I support new spending, I want to know what it will achieve, the full cost and what we will have to pay to keep it running. Residents should be able to understand that decision without needing a finance background.
Housing and local opportunity
When housing absorbs too much of a household budget, it means there is less disposable income available to support our local businesses. I will support practical housing choices and clear rules that help homes get built where growth makes sense.
I’d like to see more modest homes with a little yard.
Downtown and public safety
People should feel safe walking to work, visiting a business or enjoying a public space. I want the City to follow through on the work it can do, while pressing senior governments to meet their health, housing and justice responsibilities. People who need help deserve it, and residents and businesses deserve safe streets.
My city after hours
I’d like more live music, evening cafés and places to meet friends throughout the year. I see a livelier evening scene as part of attracting and keeping workers here, alongside good jobs and housing choices.
I will work with local venues and event organizers to understand what would help them thrive, from clearer permits to welcoming public spaces. I want to build on what is already here, with sensible noise rules and safe ways home.

What I will promise is a realistic, rational, and respectful approach to local government, to give every resident a fair shot at a prosperous future.
