I find this encouraging. I also want to know whether people feel safer on their own street.

I do not call these crime counts or a measure of workload. Calls vary in complexity and can change with reporting behaviour.

I use the City’s annual RCMP series retained in the source collections, checking 2025 against page 45 of the Annual Report. I show the rise into 2023 and the decline afterward. I label the measure files / calls because the City used annual file count before 2022. I do not mix in part-year downtown figures or treat this as a per-person rate or proof of cause.
